Getting Ready portraits of the Indian wedding Bride and Groom

Coming from different states, Janki and Vishal decided to get their getting-ready portraits done at different suites. Getting ready for photos on the wedding day can be one of the most memorable and candid moments you can get.

This also allows us to create a storyline of your entire day, capturing the excitement and anticipation of the day ahead.

It is also a great opportunity to take photos in Indian wedding photography with your parents, and siblings and include cultural elements and personal touches in wedding photography. It allows us to capture the wedding attire, ornaments, the henna designs on the bride’s hands and feet, which makes stunning photographs.

First Look

After capturing the getting-ready photos, Janki and Vishal left for Rasoi III for their first look and Indian wedding ceremony.

As the sun rose over the lush green gardens of Rasoi III and before the excited chatter of friends and family filled the air, Janki and Vishal wanted to do their first look.

The first look is a special and emotional moment for many couples, and it can be a beautiful and intimate part of your wedding day.

While doing Indian wedding photography, some couples choose to have a traditional first look. Here the bride and groom see each other for the first time as the bride walks down the aisle. Others opt for a more intimate first look, where the couple sees each other privately before the ceremony.

We found a perfectly picturesque backdrop at Rasoi III, a banquet hall in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. And at the center of it, all stood the radiant bride and groom, Janki and Vishal. Glowing with joy as they prepared to tie the knot in a colorful and charming Gujarati Indian wedding.

Traditional Portraits of Indian bride and groom - Indian wedding photography

On their wedding day, the bride and groom, Janki and Vishal, posed for portraits at Rasoi III by our team at Happy Films.

The couple looked absolutely radiant. The bride was dressed in a stunning white and red saree, a traditional Gujarati outfit. And the groom looked dapper in a traditional salwar. The setting in the afternoon sun was the perfect backdrop for their romantic and intimate photos.

Janki and Vishal, our Indian bride and groom, couldn't stop smiling as they posed for their portraits; clearly overjoyed to be celebrating their special day surrounded by their loved ones. As they stood together, it was clear that their love for each other was truly unconditional and eternal.

In a very short time, we were able to capture plenty of different Indian bride and groom poses; ranging from candids to posed ones. Individual portraits of the Indian bride and groom can be a great way to capture the unique personalities and styles of each individual, and they can be a beautiful addition to your wedding album.

It’s a Baraat Time

The baraat is a traditional Indian wedding ritual in which the groom arrives at the wedding venue, accompanied by a procession of friends, family, and musicians. It is a joyous and celebratory event, and it is typically marked by lively music, dancing, and the exchange of sweets.

During baraat, our wedding photography and videography team at Happy Films focuses on candid and spontaneous shots of the groom, his friends, and his family as they dance to celebrate. It was a joyous and energetic environment with the details of the procession, music, decor, and sweets.

Indian wedding ceremony - Indian wedding photography

With the stunning floral arrangement and velvety red carpet, the mandap at Rasoi III created a magnificent look. The mandap is a traditional structure used in many traditions of Indian weddings. It is typically used for the wedding ceremony itself. The mandap is a sacred and symbolic space, and it is often decorated with flowers, candles, and other decorative elements to create a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere.

As the ceremony started, the groom and the bride, Janki and Vishal entered the mandap. During the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom exchange garlands as a symbol of their commitment to each other. This was followed by the hast melap, in which the couple's hands are tied together with a sacred thread to symbolize the union of their hearts.

The Indian bride, Janki was then adorned with sindur, a red powder that is applied to the parting of her hair to symbolize her married status. The couple, Janki and Vishal then exchanged rings and also perform a fera, in which they take seven circular walks around a sacred fire as a symbol of their commitment to each other.

These are just a few of the many rituals and traditions that are commonly included in Indian weddings. Each wedding is unique, and the specific rituals and traditions that are included will depend on the cultural background and personal preferences of the couple.

Family portraits of Indian Weddings

After all the Indian wedding rituals were done, Janki and Vishal took group photos with their family and friends. As much as candids and bride and groom photos on the wedding day, getting group photos with family and friends serve as a reminder of the love and support you have received on your special day.

It will also provide a sense of togetherness and community and they can be a great way to honor family traditions and cultural customs. It also allows you to meet your loved ones and provide us with some light-hearted and candid moments to remember. They are also a great addition to your wedding album.

After the family portraits, Janki walked down the aisle for her Indian tradition vidai. The vidai is a traditional Indian wedding ritual in which the bride bids farewell to her family and friends and leaves for her new home with her husband. It was indeed an emotional and symbolic moment and also involved the exchange of gifts and blessings from the both groom's and bride's families.
